China

March 8 2001: This has been an extra-ordinary week. First of all, I received the information below from Van Kevin Golay with some very detailed data re the beginning of the People’s Republic of China. Shortly thereafter my mail sent me a printed letter from the Dalai Lama and a request to sign a petition from a Dutch Free-Tibet organization (URL: www.savetibet.org)They also sent a stickercopy of the Tibetan flag, which is now adorning my kitchen, mentioning that possession of this flag leads in Tibet to torture and emprisonment. Next, a Canadian correspondent (this website has international correspondents which bring news!) sends me a clipping from the BBC re a fire in Beijing (see : pyrotecnics explosions) . . The information from Van Kevin Golay whose own website will soon be up describing interactivity between America and China’s charts (and their mutual relations) : http://www.manafoods.com/astrology

Peoples Republic of China horoscope October 1, 1949 3:02 p.m. (3.01.36 pm) Beijing

from Van Kevin Golay:

This information for this chart was taken from video tape of the ceremony and accounts in Xinhua yuebao and Xinhua newspapers. Oct. 1,2,3, 1949 Beijing. As interpreted by Guanghui Zhou a Chinese student at the Hoover Institute, U.C., Stanford, California. The sequence of events goes like this.

BIRTH OF the PRC

The celebration begins precisely at 3:00 p.m. and ended at 9:25 p.m. The main events of the celebration were the proclamation of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China by newly elected Chairman Mao Zedung. This was followed by the first ever rising of the newly designed national flag in Tienanmem Square. The flag was raised at the touch of a button by Mao which automatically raised the flag by remote control. These dramatic simultaneous events symbolize and mark the ascendant. The rest of the day was filled with a military parade which lasted about 3 hours and the peoples parades took the rest of the time. Finally there were fireworks at the end.

a. At 3:00 p.m. Chairman (Mao Zedong), vice chairmen, and other members of the central government take their seats on top The Gate of Heavenly Peace facing Tienanmen Square.

b. Lin Boqu secretary of the Central Government announces the beginning and order of events of the celebration. The national song was played. This took about 1 minute ( the national song takes about 48 seconds).

c. Mao’s proclamation lasted for about 18 seconds, and the applause’s last about 18 seconds. So Mao most likely began his talk at 3:01 p.m. and finished his proclamation at between 3:01:20 and 3:01:36 p.m. ( after this, 54 ceremonial cannon fired 28 times and the national song was played again when Mao was raising the national flag. The exact information for this is that the process lasted for about 2 minutes and 5 seconds.)

Then Zhu De, Commander of the Peoples Liberation Army ordered that the military show begin (lasts about 3 hours). This was followed by the marches of the Peoples groups.

This is a pretty interesting chart. I recall we had some lunar eclipses around 5 Aquarius and a Neptune-Saturn square around 3-5 degrees Taurus-Aquarius in the charts in 1999 I think, which corresponded with the river Yangtze completely flowing over, and many many people were affected by these floods. At the time I was using a slightly different chart of China, taken from “Mundane Astrology” (Baigent, Campion and Harvey) , which used a time of 3.15 pm LT and showed a 5.54 Aquarius Ascendant conjunct an Aquarius Moon at 3.11 – Astrologically, I’ve always felt this chart to be accurate in spite of the fact that it was not mentioned in the Book of World Horoscopes as such. And history as from the above video seems to proof this chart quite accurate!

The transiting position of Saturn indicates that China is about to reinvent itself. Saturn is near its lowest point in the chart and only just started in the 4th house, indicating a whole new 30 year cycle which is being born, much of which wont be noticed by the world up until the moment that Saturn will cross the Descendant and rises above the horizon thereby. With Pluto square Saturn natally China is simultaneously in a very difficult position right now.
